The drawer bottom plate and the drawer vertical wall also intersect vertically. In order to strengthen its firm and durable use, the joint mode is often at the lower side of the two drawer vertical walls, and the dovetail groove with small outside and large inside is removed to fit with the dovetail joint of the drawer bottom plate.

The drawer baffle is the last component installed when the drawer is assembled, and it also intersects with the vertical wall of the drawer vertically. Swallowtail grooves are opened on both sides of the drawer vertical wall, and the drawer baffle exits the dovetail joint. When the tenon is inserted into the socket, push it straight down to fit with the drawer bottom plate. In this way, the drawer bottom plate can be fully pumped backward. Some special-purpose drawers have several different baffles. For example, in medicine cabinet drawers, multiple baffles are often used to separate multiple spaces for holding different medicinal materials.

It is worth mentioning here that the vertical wall of drawer often has some length behind the bottom plate of drawer, and the specific size varies with furniture and the habits of different carpenters. Its function is that when the drawer is about to be pulled to the end, the drawer face is inclined downward, while the bottom plate end of the drawer is inclined upward, and the part growing out of the vertical wall of the drawer can be stuck on the upper frame of the drawer to prevent the whole drawer from falling down. This is a very meticulous protection measure.

There are two ways to pull the drawer:

First, through the handle of the accessories on the drawer, this handle can not only pull out the drawer, but also decorate and beautify the furniture. Can be compared to the earrings of beauty. This earring should naturally match the makeup. The shape and size of the handle should fully meet the needs of the drawer face. What we usually see is a copper handle, which often consists of two fittings. When installing copper handles on drawers, workers need to punch the drawers according to the installation position, and then place gaskets, so that the copper nails of the copper handles can pass through the gaskets, pass through the pre-punched holes on the back of the drawer, and be bent separately, so that they can be firmly stuck on the back of the drawer to prevent the copper handles from loosening or falling off when pulling the drawers. However, some folk furniture, due to careless materials and workmanship, is matched with iron handles or handles made of other materials.

Second, some furniture does not need any handles. In this case, just hold the bottom plate of the drawer and slowly drag it outward to open the drawer. There is also a very clever way to open it, which can be called "saving Zhao from Wei". When one drawer is closed, the other drawer will pop up. What a clever design, it adds infinite interest to the whole furniture.
